Pouches?

With my first I made my own baby food and pouches. With my second we have simplified to store bought pouches. If you are a pouch person, and if you (like me) have made the questionable decision to allow the kids to have them as a car snack (I have justified this by being afraid of the kids choking in the back seat while I’m in the front and having a long commute when the kids logically experience the worst hunger of their lives despite the day’s already consumed foods) I recommend a backseat car cover. Like this one:

I also recommend a bottle of water in addition to whatever wipes you likely already have in the car….because some messes require a wetter than normal wet wipe. Many of these messes involve my hair or clothes and usually occur before I am going to work.

Also, if you like me have guilt related to too much sugar /fruit in pouches I started buying Cerebelly pouches. They were designed by a neurosurgeon for brain goodness and I found had more vegetable presence than other pouch brands. For the past 6 months or so I’ve been getting a box a month or so and supplementing our Costco pouches with these ones. That has (however real or logical the effect actually is) calmed down my guilt. If you sign up for a subscription you get a percentage off. The pumpkin white bean ones with cinnamon are kind of decadent…when my kids don’t finish the whole pouch I secretly get excited to finish those myself.
