Neighbor Cat

We have 2 cats. They are friendly to a fault. My 18 month old son hugs them and lays on them and tried to put his fingers in their eyes. One of them in particular does not complain. He doesn’t try to hurt them, he’s just shows affection in an aggressive manner. Jump to the other day, I am outside with the kids trying to water the garden. All I need is 5 minutes, but those 5 minutes come in 10 second fragments between the shoes falling off, bugs crawling in places they shouldn’t be (e.g. the grass), mommy I’m hungry, etc. I finally get the needs handled, and turn to water the tomatoes. I think everything is going swimmingly. My son is quiet, my daughter is digging in the dirt, exhale…..my son is quiet…uh oh… look behind me and there he is laying on top of a cat. A cat that is not ours. I remove him from said cat, luckily with no new puncture wounds. Phew, end of story. Nope. This cat has now taken a liking to my son. I spend the next hour trying to keep them apart because now my mom mind is jumping to illogical conclusions like what strange disease must this cat be harboring to be ok with my son smothering it with his body and pulling its ears. I give up and we come inside. I still need to water the rest of the garden. By the way my son ate our pepper plants. Not peppers, pepper plants. 5 of them. You win some, you lose some.
